This is the moment a university student picks up a stray dog before running with the poor pooch and chucking it into a puddle from a distance.

The video was recorded in the surroundings of the Autonomous University of Chapingo, in the municipality of Texcoco, in the central Mexican state of Mexico State and was shared by the ChapiCanes volunteer group which works with stray animals on the campus.

In the video, a student, whose name has not been revealed, can be seen lifting up the stray dog named Copito and carrying onto a grassy area.

He then throws the dog into a puddle as he and onlookers laugh. The poor pooch lads in the shallow water before running away from the aggressor.

The video was shared with the message “these kinds of acts are not minor acts, and not only are those who do it responsible, but also those who record it. We will take measures.”

The organisation confirmed to local media that they had identified the aggressor but they did not reveal his name.

The group told reporters: “The aggressor and the two accomplices have already been identified. They are first-year students and this has been reported to the university authorities with the help of the teacher Luz Maria Hermoso.”

The organisation wants the student to be sanctioned but it is unclear if this will take place. The university has not commented on the situation.

‘Victoria Ca’ commented: “What a*seholes. The little dog was better leaving those human beings.”
