This is the moment a strong gust of wind slams a man into the side of a parked van and knocks him out during a cold front that is battering northern Spain.

The incident was filmed on Zubieta Street near Hotel Londres in the city of San Sebastian in the northern Spanish region of Basque Country and the footage was later shared on social media.

In the video, two men are seen fighting their way through the strong wind as a pedestrian enters the frame and slams into the side of a parked van, apparently knocking himself out.

Local media said that passersby helped the man on the street until an ambulance arrived to take him to Donostia Hospital.

Reports said the man is still receiving hospital care and is responding well to treatment.

The pedestrian’s injury was one of the most serious incidents reported during a cold front that has hit the Basque Country and particularly damaged the city of San Sebastian.

Strong winds have reportedly upended trees and overturned vehicles while many residents had difficulties travelling or walking on the streets, as seen in a video shared by the city’s tourism department.

Local media also said that four people in the northern Spanish region have been hospitalised with injuries caused by strong gusts.

Upended trees also closed several roads and there have been multiple reports of damage to buildings and city facilities.

The cleanup operation is ongoing.
