This is the moment a stocky passerby beats the living daylights out of a whimpering man on the pavement after he reportedly spotted him kicking a stray dog.

The incident was filmed in the city of Morelia in the central Mexican state of Michoacan and shared on Facebook where it has been seen 87,000 times.

In the video, a chubby man in a white shirt is seen kneeling over the alleged animal abuser as he pummels him with both fists.

The aggressor says: “Do you feel good when you kick dogs?”

The victim does not appear to fight back as he takes the beating and whimpers under the heavy blows.

The heavyset man then kicks the alleged dog abuser, falling over in the process, before strutting away.

The condition of the stray dog that was reportedly kicked by the beaten man, which is not seen in the footage, is unclear.

At present, it is also unknown whether the local authorities are looking into the incident and subsequent brawl.

Netizen ‘Jess Arguelles’ commented: “Thank you for beating him up sir. No one has the right to abuse an animal. Stray dogs are not aggressive, people are!”

‘Laura Macias’ said: “Bravo! Well done to the man who protected a defenceless animal. God bless you.”

‘Yhana Gtz’ wrote: “Congratulations to the man who defended the dog.”
