This is the moment a cruel mum pummels her three-year-old daughter in the face repeatedly and grabs her by the neck because the tot will not eat her ice cream.

The shocking incident occurred in the Nilufer district of Bursa province in Turkey when the mother, identified as S.B., 36, went grocery shopping in the local market with two girls aged 12 and 3, reportedly her daughters.

In the video, the mother can be seen slapping the tot, named in reports as L.B., in a pram as she holds an ice cream in her left hand.

The mother slaps the girl’s face repeatedly as she tries to give the girl the ice-cream before the aggressive mum grabs her daughter by the neck.

She continues to try to force the tot to take the ice-cream and the little girl then looks to her sister who comes running over and gives her a kiss.

The mum continues slapping the young girl’s face before the sister intervenes. The mother can then be seen heavy-handedly moving the girl’s hair from her face before the family leave together and the woman throws the ice-cream stick on the ground.

Local media report market workers witnessed the incident and informed the police who launched an investigation.

After the woman was identified she was detained and taken to a police station. Reports state the legal procedures are ongoing and it is unclear if she has been charged.
