A biker caught doing 100 mph in Munich city centre told cops he had taken viagra and had to get back to his girlfriend as soon as possible when they stopped him as he raced down a one-way street.

The biker was stopped driving the wrong way on a one-way street at 160 kph (100 mph) through Munich city centre in the southern German state of Bavaria.

The unnamed 55-year-old man, who had ignored the fact that one lane was closed meaning it was only a one-way street, ignored the closed lane and was promptly stopped by police. 

An alcohol test showed the speeder was over the drink-drive limit as well. 

When questioned the man reportedly claimed that he had taken Viagra and said he therefore had to speed home to his girlfriend as quickly as possible so the effects of the drug did not wear off before he arrived home.

But the man was taken to the police station for a blood test rather than enjoying his time with his girlfriend.

The man now faces speeding as well as drink driving charges.
