This beautiful young model has been found dead face down in her pal’s kitchen with a deep cut in her neck after she reportedly rumbled a thief in the house – and cops believe he killed her.

Karina Marcella Copia Perez, 24, was house-sitting for a friend in an upmarket area of the city of Trujillo in the north-western Peruvian department of Libertad when she was murdered.

Jorge Gonzales Quispe, the head of the police said in a press statement that a man identified as Ronal Alfredo Vera Alfaro, 37, had been arrested on suspicion of having broken into the home and killed Perez.

Quispe said: “The suspect broke into the house with the goal of stealing. He is a person who knows what happens inside the house and knew that in the main room there was money. He took an envelope containing money and took it away.

“At the moment he was going out of the house he was spotted by the victim, so he might have grabbed her by the neck and murdered her after beating her up.”

The body of the woman, who was reportedly studying International Business Management at the Private University of the North in Trujillo and worked as a model and hostess, was found by a security guard who went into the house after noticing that there was no movement inside and nobody was answering the door.

He is said to have found the victim’s body face down in the kitchen with a deep cut in her neck so he called the police.

Quispe said footprints matching Alfaro’s were found at the scene and the victim’s body has been sent to a forensics team for an autopsy to be carried out.

A relative of the victim said she had been looking after the house and the puppies of a friend who had left the area for a long weekend.

Homicide detectives are working on the investigation and it is unclear if the suspect has been charged.
