This is the moment a reckless motorist whizzes around Barcelona with a young blonde woman ‘riding’ on his bonnet leading to a 460-GBP fine and six points on his licence.

The incident was filmed in the area of Poblenou in the city of Barcelona in the north-eastern Spanish region of Catalonia and was later shared on social media, prompting an investigation by the Catalan authorities.

Reports said that the police managed to track down the offending motorist by the licence plate seen in the footage.

The unnamed driver admitted the charge, but claimed that the woman jumped up on his bonnet against his will.

However, police sub-inspector Manuel Aros said that he can be heard egging on the young woman in the video.

In the footage, a young woman wearing a black sports top is seen giving a high-five to an onlooker as the silver car accelerates with her sitting on the bonnet.

As the car speeds away in some kind of apparent dare, the woman clings on tightly and a crowd of onlookers cheers loudly.

Barcelona’s Urban Guard concluded that the stunt warranted heavy punishment and fined the motorist 500 EUR (460 GBP) as well as adding six points to his driving licence, according to local media.

Aros also warned others about these kinds of dangerous stunts, saying that “there will be people who want to imitate this behaviour and sometimes these incidents have terrible consequences”.
