Sozzled Russian Man Traps Self In Lift After Smashing It Up In Drunken Rage

These images show a visibly intoxicated Russian man smashing up a lift in a drunken rage, causing it to break down and trap him inside it.

The incident took place in the city of Novosibirsk, which is located in south-western Siberia in Russia, in a 20-storey building that now has a broken lift that none of the residents can use.

The incident was caught on CCTV with the images showing the man, who has not been named, unsteady on his feet as he gets into the lift.

The drunk Russian man pushes a button and the lift doors close, but then he appears to fly into a rage and proceeds to vandalise and destroy the inside of the lift.

At first, he can be seen kicking the lift door, which immediately bends. The lift then appears to malfunction, with the drunk Russian man becoming increasingly enraged as his futile attempts to exit the lift seem to only spur him on further.

After repeatedly kicking the lift door, the man can be seen choosing a new target and launching a flurry of attacks against the lift buttons.

He damages the panel so thoroughly that it comes away from the side of the lift slightly. Eventually, the inebriated man notices this and he grabs hold of the panel and rips it clean off.

The lift is suddenly full of ripped and partially connected cables as the carnage continues.

The man, who has not been named but who is reportedly 22 years old, was arrested by the authorities, who jailed him at the local police department, according to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The offender does not have any priors, and it is unclear what penalties he faces. It is also unclear how much it will cost to repair the lift and how long it will take before the residents of the 20-storey building will be able to use it again.
