So Hoi-lam, 26 – who became Hong Kong’s first adult star in Japan – has told local media how she was amazed by the professional preparation for the film.

She said: “When I was filming the AV films, they prepared a truckload of clothes and over ten pairs of shoes. It was shocking!”

So Hoi-lam – known professionally as Erena – says production staff had even prepared her favourite snacks.

Her first adult film – co-starring popular Japanese male porn star Ken Shimizu – will reportedly be released within the next two weeks.

Erena told local media: “I genuinely love sex so I’m turning my interest into a career.

“I emailed my CV to Japanese porn production companies and they either ignored or rejected me.

“Then I approached production companies in Taiwan, asking if they could help me contact their Japanese counterparts.”

As a beginner, Erena says she would never take part in orgies or roles that would include her sleeping with an onscreen dad or grandpa.

She explained: “I can accept maximum three people, including myself.”

Erena has even come up with the idea for her next starring role.

She said: “I have not seen such a plot before: one where I go on a protest in the streets and get abducted by a politician or someone else, and then things happen.”

Despite having no wedding plans Erena does not think her job will stop her from landing boyfriends.

But she has not shared her career switch with her parents.

Erena said: “I don’t expect them to accept my choice, but regardless of their responses, I will fulfil my responsibilities as a daughter and take care of them.”

Erena believes that she will truly be recognised as an actress by the public only when she acts in non-adult films.

But she would like for the public to be able to see her as versatile and hopes to avoid being typecast.
