Playboy ‘shock model’ Marisa Papen reportedly faces three years in a Turkish prison cell for taking part in nude photoshoots at some of Turkey’s most famous landmarks back in 2018.

Belgian model Marisa Papen, 28, has made headlines around the world for her anti-religious controversies which included posing nude with a giant crucifix at the Vatican.

She also caused outrage in Israel after posing in front of Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall.

However, snaps taken in 2018 have caught the attention of Istanbul’s Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Papen, who describes herself as a “free-spirited and wild-hearted expressionist”, travelled to Turkey with Australian photographer Jesse Walker for a photoshoot for his label ENKI Eyewear.

During the photoshoot, Papen lifted up her burka to reveal her private parts inside Istanbul’s iconic Hagia Sophia – a former Byzantine church and Ottoman mosque which is now a museum.

She also posed naked in the arid region of Cappadocia and the public prosecutor’s office has reportedly issued an arrest warrant.

An investigation is already underway for committing ‘deceiving acts’ and ‘publicly humiliating the state’s sovereignty’, according to local media.

The arrest warrant has reportedly been issued so the Turkish authorities can take her statement regarding the incidents under investigation.

Papen previously made the headlines when she was imprisoned after posing naked at the Karnak Temple Complex near the Egyptian city of Luxor.

The Playboy model also caused outrage with religious communities after posing nude in the holy city of Jerusalem to the backdrop of the Wailing Wall, considered one of the most important sites in Judaism.

In November last year, Papen posed for a series of photos in Iceland to highlight the effects of climate change as part of her project ‘PLASTICSUSHI’.

Marisa told Central European News (CEN): “I had to strip off and lie on the ice. I didn’t see any other naked person jumping around laughing, it was certainly a challenge but I enjoyed every moment.”

The shock model explained that the nude images do not show her face which symbolises how everyone blames someone else for climate change.

CEN has contacted Papen regarding the Turkish investigation, but she has yet to respond.
