The suspect, named only as Ms T., was caught red-handed after the police officers saw her performing a facelift on a patient without any medical training.

The black market salon, located on Hung Vuong Street in tourist hotspot Da Nang, has been shut down while the police investigate, according to local media.

The police performed a check on the salon on 12th August, which is when they saw Ms T. operating on the unnamed customer.

When they asked for her medical licence she said she was just the cleaner, according to the police.

The police also found staff using unsuitable medical equipment to carry out procedures and no safe way of disposing of clinical waste.

Undercover images shot at the time show a woman in medical scrubs performing a surgical procedure on a woman’s face as she lies on an operating table.

Another gruesome image shows ancient-looking medical equipment beside a piece of cotton wool with what appears to be a slice of human skin on it.

A third photo shows what appears to be human waste dropped into an ordinary waste paper bin.

A statement from the Thanh Khe District Police obtained by Newsflash on 14th August said: “On the morning of August 14, Thanh Khe District Police said that it is continuing to consolidate records and documents to handle an ‘underground’ beauty salon in the area.

“Before that, at 11 am on 12th August, the Economic Police Team of the District Police conducted an inspection of the observance of the law on environmental protection at K. Aesthetic facility (address in Thanh Khe district), and discovered a series of violations.”

They went on: “Specifically, at the time of inspection, the owner of Kangzin Cosmetology establishment could not present all kinds of legal documents to ensure the eligibility of the operation as a beauty salon (such as a certificate of eligibility for business operation; a written notice of eligibility to operate in the field of cosmetology issued by the Department of Health; a contract for hazardous waste collection and hazardous waste delivery and a receipt book with the collection company; as well as a practice certificate of the employee. at work).

“In addition, the police forces also noted that the facility had not equipped a dedicated rubbish bin with a lid in the service area; failing to equip or arrange specialised bins (large size) to collect and store hazardous waste; throw medical waste and household waste on the pavement in front of the business…

“Notably, at the time of inspection, the police agency discovered that the staff of this facility, TTT, was providing interventional surgery to tighten facial skin for one customer.

“Through her work, Ms. T. could not produce any medical examination and treatment practice certificates, and said that she was only a cleaning worker at the facility.

“In addition, this establishment also failed to produce legal documents proving the origin of 206 products that are medical supplies, filler solutions (filler, botox), nasal cartilage, and tools.

“The case was then made by the Economic and Environmental Police Team of Thanh Khe District Police to record all violations of the establishment and continue to verify and clarify.”
