Cops Ring Sirens Outside Hospital To Honour COVID Medics

This is the heartwarming moment a squad of cop cars pulls up outside a hospital in Madrid with their sirens blaring to honour hardworking medics taking care of COVID-19 patients

The incident was filmed in front of the Hospital Universitario Fundacion Jimenez Diaz in the central Spanish capital Madrid, and multiple videos have been widely shared on social media.

According to local media, officers of the National and Local police showed up outside the hospital in patrol cars with their sirens blaring, as seen in the footage.

Grateful cops then got out of their vehicles to stand in front of the entrance to applaud medics inside, battling a rising number of COVID-19 cases.

In the heartwarming scene, local residents are also heard clapping and cheering healthcare professionals from their nearby homes.

According to local media, residents have been applauding medics from their windows at 8pm every evening.

Netizen ‘Danibf5’ wrote: “I am so proud of these professionals. It won’t help to save lives but it says a lot more than what our politicians say. The best deed of the day, without a doubt.”

Twitter user ‘TomasGzl’ said: “Love it. The police coming to say hello to health professionals.”

As of 20th March, 19,980 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Spain with 1,002 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.
