Dario spoke about the loss of his brother as today (Tuesday) marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic aeroplane accident which claimed his life.

When speaking about his brother’s memory, Dario said: “I would like for people to remember how hard he worked and fought to get to where he got and how he was as a person. People saw that too.

Dario went on to praise his brother saying: “He was loved. He did not change, he always remained the same humble and grounded person” explaining that “we are all the same in that sense.

“We had a good upbringing with our mother, she always taught us to work.”

Despite Dario feeling thankful for the messages of support to his family as it lets them “know that many people loved” Emiliano, he said: “We try to overcome the pain by pulling together.

“It is the best thing we can do and surround our mother. It is terrible for a mother to lose a son. It is also terrible for us to lose a brother.”

Dario also has a sister named Romina.

Sala died in a plane accident on 21st January 2019 as he was en route to being unveiled as a Cardiff player.

The forward died in the accident and his body was later pulled from the English Channel on 7th February of 2019.
