This viral video with over five million views shows a runaway horse galloping down a busy high street and sending an OAP tourist flying before cops shoot it dead.

CCTV footage dated 21st May captured the moment the riderless white horse charges down the pedestrian street in She County in China’s eastern province of Anhui, sending an old lady flying.

Another clip shows the poor animal dying in a pool of its own blood after cops repeatedly shot it having failed to bring it under control.

In the footage witnesses move out the way as quickly as possible in order to avoid being hit by the horse, which runs straight towards two women who have their backs turned to the animal.

The more elderly of the two is hit from behind and sent flying out of camera shot, while her friend escaped largely unharmed.

Authorities say the horse was frightened and had been rented for a local wedding party, then injured a male pedestrian shortly after.

All three victims were tourists. They were taken to a local hospital, where the elderly woman continues to be treated for more serious injuries.

The horse was later put down by armed police after authorities failed to bring it under control, with video showing loud gunshots ringing through the town. The horse can then been seeing in its death throes with the street covered in blood.

Police said this white horse was often used for local wedding celebrations, although it is unclear what spooked it in the first place.
