RUBBLE AND STRIFE: Firefighters’ Fingertip Search For Victims

This is the agonising moment Italian firefighters painstakingly sift through rubble from a collapsed building in a fingertip search for possible victims.

Fire department officials said the incident – which took place in the small Italian town of Melissano – was reported around 07.50 pm on 20th October.

Emergency searched for potential victims as they carefully cleared out a collapsed attic, despite being informed that the building was abandoned.

Specially-trained firefighters and sniffer dogs sorted through tons of rubble for hours before they were satisfied it was clear.

The cause of the collapse is still being investigated, although the fire department reportedly suspects it was due to prolonged negligence and possible break-ins.
