A 32-year-old man has turned himself into the police after allegedly murdering this 21-year-old woman and leaving her dead body partially dismembered in a plastic bag in a hotel rented by the hour for couples to have sex.
The murder reportedly took place in room 41 of the El Romance motel in the municipality of Guadalupe in the city of La Chorrera in the province of Panama Oeste in central Panama andthere the suspect allegedly tried to explain the blood in the room by saying his girlfriend had her period.
According to local media, Guadalupe Lorenzo, 21, was found dead on the night of 7th December 2019.
Reports state that sources in the local authorities revealed the room had been rented that same day at 2:55 pm for two hours and then at 4:55 pm a man paid for two more hours before leaving the motel at 6:55 pm.
The man reportedly told the establishment that his girlfriend had her period and had stained the bedsheets. He made the claim while leaving a tip for staff.
The housekeeping worker who cleaned the room after he left found a lot of blood in the room but did not raise the alarm until she found Lorenzo’s partly dismembered body in a plastic bag in the garage used to access the room, according to local media. The body reportedly had several stab wounds on it.
Reports state the General Attorney’s Office of Panama Oeste issued an arrest warrant for a suspect whose name has not been disclosed at the beginning of January after several witnesses identified the car Lorenzo had got into on the day of her death. The same car was reportedly seen in the security camera footage from the hotel.
The suspect, who is a 32-year-old man, has reportedly turned himself into the police accompanied by his lawyer.
The suspect is now under police custody while the investigation is ongoing.
No motive has been provided for the murder.
