The incident was filmed on Kominterna Street in the city of Mytishchi in the western Russian region Moscow Oblast when the unnamed 43-year-old victim was ambling across the road.

The owner of a black SUV, identified as 68-year-old businessman Viktor Chubak, stops to say something to the man and they exchange a few words through the driver’s window.

The driver then opens his door and the man tries to shut it, however during a short altercation, the victim holds his neck and doubles over.

The injured man staggers around the road and tries to prevent the black SUV from leaving, albeit unsuccessfully.

He then collapses to the ground in front of a taxi driver who immediately pulls away and leaves the scene without helping the man.

According to local media, it was some time before a pedestrian bothered to check on the collapsed man, by which time he had already died.

Reports said that Chubak stabbed him in the neck and it is believed he cut the man’s carotid artery.

The suspect later handed himself over to the police, according to local media.

The police have launched a murder case and Chubak could reportedly face up to 20 years in prison if found guilty.

Netizen ‘Aleks Alekseev’ said: “Yep, it has literally become life-threatening to cross the street these days.”

‘Denis Kovalyov’ commented ironically: “Shame the pedestrian did not have a gun with him for crossing the street.”
