This is the moment a Mercedes-Benz owner mows down a woman at a fruit and vegetable market and breaks her leg over a parking dispute.

The incident happened in the city of Shantou in China’s southern Guangdong Province where the victim, 57-year-old Ms Chen, works as one of the market’s management staff.

Surveillance video dated 16th November shows the Mercedes-Benz owner, whose name has been withheld by the police, moving Ms Chen’s scooter after it had been parked in front of his car and reportedly blocked his vehicle from leaving.

Ms Chen notices and begins arguing with the Merc owner, who she claims had unlawfully left the SUV in parking spaces reserved for motorcycles, scooters and bicycles.

In the video, the Mercedes-Benz owner walks away from the heated argument and reportedly climbs into his car as Ms Chen begins moving her scooter back to the parking space next to the office.

But the SUV suddenly charges forward and crashes into Ms Chen, mowing her down in front of numerous witnesses.

According to reports, the Ms Chen was taken to Shantou Central Hospital where she continues to be treated for a fractured right fibula and head injuries including a suspected concussion.

The Mercedes-Benz owner remains in custody as investigations continue.
