An American soldier based in Germany was stunned to receive a black box crammed with 250 bullets instead of the chocolate sauce he had ordered online from a US company.
The package was sent to the 27-year-old soldier, who has not been named, at the Ramstein Air Base, a US Air Force based in the district of Kaiserslautern located in the western German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
According to local media, the serviceman was awaiting his order of chocolate sauce from the US, but he instead received a black box containing 250 .30-calibre bullets.
The bullets are typically used with machine guns such as an M1919 Browning and with high-powered rifles.
The American soldier immediately reported the incident to the Military Police.
He reportedly ordered the sauce through an unnamed major online company and noticed that the package was unusually large when he received it.
Fortunately for the serviceman, he cannot be accused of violating any German laws as the package was sent from the US to the military base and the shipping is therefore considered within American territory.
Local media said the bullets were not capable of being fired as they were missing the casing and propellant charges.
It is still unclear how the soldier was sent a box of bullets instead of chocolate sauce and the investigation is ongoing.
