This is the moment a road-rage driver repeatedly tries to run into a motorcyclist, smashing up both vehicles in the process, before he finally gets out of his car and the two come to blows.
The incident, which was filmed by an onlooker, took place in the neighbourhood of Parque Taquaral in the city of Campinas in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.
Footage shows how the driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero and the motorcycle courier argue at some traffic lights amid horn honks before the biker whacks the driver with his helmet through the open car window.
The driver, in a rage, pursues the biker as he tries to ride off and knocks him off his motorbike.
The driver then proceeds to run into the motorbike with his vehicle again, apparently smashing it up, with the biker unable to do anything about it other than hurl insults at the raging driver.
However, the driver also takes a lot of collateral damage, leaving his bumper hanging off and even smashing his own vehicle against a post as he repeatedly tries to run into the biker in a game of cat and mouse.
Eventually, the seething driver gets out of his SUV and the two men come to blows, with the biker appearing to take the upper hand by flooring the driver as the clip ends.
According to local media, another motorcycle courier who witnessed the fight unfold also got involved in the scuffle.
The second courier, named Wagner Sperancini, told EPTV of the SUV driver: “He tried to kill me five or six times.”
According to G1, even more bikers joined in the scuffle and the chase continued through the neighbourhood streets.
The melee reportedly ended with the driver of a Toyota Hilux hitting a stationary motorcycle courier who had nothing to do with the scuffle.
The 36-year-old man had to be taken to hospital to be treated for several fractures. His motorbike was also broken.
The Civil Police (Brazil’s investigative police force) will investigate the incident, which it has registered as attempted murder.
At the time of reporting, investigators did not yet know the cause of the argument that preceded the scuffle, and the two brawlers caught on camera had not yet been identified.
According to G1, the courier caught on film suffered no injuries in the incident. It was not reported if the Pajero driver suffered any injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
