Driver Pulls Into Bus Stop And Rams Woman Distracted On Phone

This is the shocking moment a bus driver pulls into a stop and rams a woman while she is on her phone.

The incident was filmed at a bus stop on Rua Pernambuco in the city of Divinopolis in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais on the morning of 23rd November.

In the footage, the victim is seen standing on the edge of the pavement next to the sign as the bus pulls in and rams her, sending her crashing to the ground.

The police said the woman suffered a bleeding wound on the back of her head and was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Meanwhile, the 45-year-old bus driver was taken to a police station to make a statement.

After being quizzed by the cops, he was reportedly arrested for causing bodily harm, failing to help, and fleeing the scene of an accident.

The driver reportedly claimed that no passengers told him that she had been run over and he presumed she had collapsed from illness when he saw her on the ground, adding that he heard a sound but thought it was the wing mirror hitting the bus sign.

The driver, name not disclosed, paid a BRL-5,000 (GBP 671) bond and was released with conditions, according to the news site G1.

The transport company Consorcio Transoeste said in a statement that they regret what happened and are looking into the incident, adding that they are in contact with the victim’s family.

There have been no further updates on the woman’s condition as the police investigation continues.
