This is the moment an enraged driver holds another motorist in a tight chokehold in the middle of a busy road.

The two drivers, whose identities are not known, were reportedly fighting on the street after having an accident on the Los Proceres boulevard in the south-central capital city of San Salvador in the state of El Salvador.

According to other drivers who were at the scene, one of those involved in the accident wanted the other to accept responsibility for the damages done, but the other driver reportedly refused to do so which caused the argument.

In the video, one of the drivers can be seen with his arms wrapped around his opponent’s neck in a chokehold.

The man in the chokehold is wincing in pain as an onlooker tries to pull the men apart.

The aggressor eventually releases his chokehold as traffic passes the pair.

According to witnesses after the video ended, the two of them continued the argument until one of them ran away from the scene.

It is not clear whether an investigation has been opened.

The video shared on Twitter and has received nearly 40,000 views.

Netizen ‘Mario’ commented: “What an atrocity.”

And ‘Maria Elisa’ wrote: “What a shame.”
