This is the moment a huge python with a bulging belly enjoys a dip in a canal after eating a heavy meal, believed to be a cat or dog.

The snake was filmed going for a swim in Yew Mei Green in the island city-state of Singapore located just off southern Malaysia.

The footage was shared on Facebook by netizen Lawrence Chong with over 33,000 people viewing the clip and 350 sharing it.

According to Chong, he first saw the bulging python floating along the canal by Yew Mei Green at around 1.30pm.

In the footage, Led Zeppelin’s ‘Dazed and Confused’ is heard playing in the background while the large python winds along the canal.

The snake is seen with a bulging belly, believed to have been a small dog or a cat that it had devoured earlier.

The python appears to be trying to get onto the bank, but its bulky body weight is being dragged by the water flow.

The large reptile finally manages to get purchase on the edge of the bank and stop itself from floating down the canal.

But Chong said that the python ultimately failed and had then drifted “towards Kranji Reservoir”.
