Cops in Brazil have arrested a priest for raping a woman following a prayer session at her home.

The alleged crime took place in the victim’s bedroom in the neighbourhood of Telegrafo in the northern Brazilian city of Belem on 20th March.

Daniel Souza was caught on a security camera allegedly raping the seemingly inert woman, to whose house he had gone to ostensibly say a prayer.

When relatives of the victim, who had been elsewhere in the house, realised what had happened, they attacked the suspect, roughing him up and forcing him into a confession, which they filmed.

The suspect claimed to the assembled family members that he “erred” and blamed his actions on “the enemy” and “the devil”.

An angry relative cut him off, retorting “you are the devil” before the suspect claimed he had “succumbed to temptation”.

He was later arrested by the police and will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. No further details of the case have been divulged.
