This pretty Brazilian dentist, just 25, has been found dead inside her home with a gunshot wound to the back of the head, and relatives believe her policeman boyfriend fired the fatal shot.

Ana Luiza Souto Dompsin was found dead inside her home in the Brazilian municipality of Divisa Alegre in the early hours of 23rd March.

Cops found her dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the back of the head following an anonymous tip-off.

According to preliminary information, Ana Luiza’s boyfriend, who is a policeman, was also inside the property at the time of the crime.

According to reports, Amauri Araujo told police that his girlfriend committed suicide in the bedroom with his firearm, despite the fatal shot being fired into the back of her head.

The victim’s mother, Keila Souto, who lives in the municipality of Vitoria da Conquista, shy of two hours away by car, told local media: “It was beyond belief for me.

“When I got the news, I went numb. It still hasn’t sunken in. We’re devastated. The family is in shock.”

Keila and her family do not believe that Ana Luiza, who was apparently a happy young woman, committed suicide, suspecting her boyfriend of femicide instead.

The police are investigating the case and have seized the firearm used to kill Ana Luiza from the property.

The victim was buried in her hometown, Vitoria da Conquista, on 24th March and the mayor of Divisa Alegre declared three days’ official mourning in her memory.

It is unclear if Amauri Araujo remains in preventive detention.
