A 19-year-old footballer has been stabbed to death by party gatecrashers in Argentina.
Ayrton Repetti, who played football for his local team Club Atletico Ceres Union, was stabbed twice during a private after party in a house behind the ground.
The incident took place in the municipality of Ceres in the Argentine province of Santa Fe at around 6.30am on Sunday, 30th January.
According to the news site TN, three people arrived at the after party uninvited and tried to enter the house, prompting an altercation.
During the brawl, Repetti, who was working as the DJ’s assistant during the party, was reportedly stabbed twice, once in his left lung and once in the spleen.
The victim’s friends called an ambulance. However, he passed away before doctors had a chance to save him.
Another knife victim, named as 25-year-old Mauricio Soria, was also hospitalised and has undergone surgery.
Repetti’s stepfather Marcelo Alonso told TN that the young footballer was defending a friend when he was fatally stabbed.
Alonso added: “He was a lovely boy. He was healthy and he had just finished his studies. He was very loving and loved. It is indefensible that these things happen.”
A protest took place on Sunday afternoon that saw the victim’s friends and relatives march from the railway station to the police station to demand justice for the young man’s death.
Three suspects have been arrested as the investigation continues.
