The distressful video shows a police officer saving a choking woman’s life by performing the Heimlich manoeuvre when she halted in the middle of the motorway.

Mansfield Police Officer Chad Stevens saved the life of a woman identified only as Samantha after she began choking on Interstate Highway 20, in the US state of Texas, on 13th January.

The police department said in a statement obtained by Clipzilla: “While traveling eastbound near Anglin Road, Officer Stevens noticed a white vehicle driving in the left lane with hazard lights on, indicating a potential emergency.

“Responding to the situation, he activated his emergency lights and pulled behind the vehicle.

“As he was putting his vehicle into park, Officer Stevens observed Samantha, the driver, exiting her vehicle with evident signs of distress, holding her neck and coughing as if she was choking.

“Acting swiftly, Officer Stevens implemented the Heimlich Maneuver, successfully dislodging a piece of gum, causing the obstruction.”

Samantha later explained that another vehicle had entered her lane, causing her to breathe in quickly. She reportedly struggled to breathe for several minutes before she got help.
