This footage shows a helpful pup doing its part of the house chores and carrying home a basket full of groceries.

The golden retriever was filmed by an unnamed woman in the city streets of Chengdu, in the Chinese province of Sichuan, on 3rd December.

The dog appears to be enjoying its task as it wags its tail while carrying bags full of veggies from the local market that have been carefully placed around its front shoulders.

But that morning’s shopping list seems to have been a bit long since there is an additional basket that is pooch is seen carrying in its mouth.

And while the amused woman approaches with her camera, the pup puts the basket down to take a breather.

Although there is much to carry, the dog only pauses for a short moment before picking back up the groceries and continuing home.

The woman later shared the video on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok.

Netizens were seemingly amazed by the goldie, and asked where they could get a trained helper like the one in the video.

User ‘litchi.’ wrote: “Where can this kind of dog be sold, I don’t want to go to the vegetable market to buy vegetables.”

And user ‘Ningxia’ jokingly added: “This dog is smarter than my husband!”
