A transsexual model whose alleged tryst with football ace turned politician Romario ruined her life is now having the last laugh with her success on OnlyFans.
Thalita Zampirolli is also delighted at having been named Carnival Queen of a prestigious samba school.
Unidos de Padre Miguel – which competes in Serie A, Rio de Janeiro’s top-flight samba schools league – recently named the OnlyFans star as its ‘rainha da bateria’.
The rainha da bateria, or drum queen, is a woman – often a celebrity – chosen to dance in skimpy clothing in front of the musicians during the carnival parade.
Thalita is from Brazil but lives in Boston, USA. She became notorious after an alleged tryst with former football ace Romario in 2013.
The apparent liaison became public after she was snapped holding hands with the 2014 World Cup winner as the two left a Rio de Janeiro nightclub.
She has claimed Romario – now a senator for Rio de Janeiro state – was unaware at the time that she was trans.
She also recalled receiving a torrent of negative press from the snap, telling local media: “When people found out who I was, through a very annoying controversy in my life, it was very irritating.
“They found out because I come from a very small town, Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, and everyone there knows my family.”
She added: “When they found out who I was, the doors to work – through which I could support myself and pay my bills – closed.”
But despite the ordeal, Thalita had the last laugh, as she is now raking in big bucks from subscriptions to her OnlyFans page.
There, she charges users BRL 84.90 (GBP 13) per month for access to her X-rated content.
Thalita had sex reassignment surgery aged 18 but claims: “I was born a woman.” She has been married to an American man for three years.
Of her recent appointment to drum queen, she said: “It’s an honour for me to be part of this family. I arrive in Brazil in early January and stay until the end of Carnival.
“I’ve already got the samba on the tip of my tongue, I’ve read the synopsis of the plot, I’m taking a samba class to improve my swing.
“It will be total delivery on my part, I am very committed in everything I do.”
