This female doctor who was a top cardiologist has allegedly been stabbed to death by her jealous older husband who is a former ambulance driver.

The incident took place in the western Russian capital Moscow on 3rd March and the body of the victim, identified as 47-year-old Lala Oganesyan, was discovered by her son when she failed to show up at work.

Reports said that when the unnamed son arrived at the family home on Perekopskaya Street he found the doors were locked and then contacted the emergency services.

Officials on the scene found the mother on the floor with stab wounds to her abdomen while her husband was lying next to her attempting to kill himself, according to local media.

Reports said the 60-year-old husband, a former ambulance driver, is suspected of stabbing his cardiologist wife to death in a jealous rage.

After realising what he had done, it is believed that he then attempted to take his own life, according to local media.

He has since been hospitalised and his current condition is unknown.

Their son told local media: “My dad is 13 years older than my mum and he was often jealous, even in front of patients. He often accused her without any reason.”

A neighbour of the family said: “They were a decent family, didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, but he used to shout at her a lot.”

The investigation is ongoing.
