This is the shocking moment a woman carrying a skateboard is hit by a bus while crossing the road.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera at around 7pm in the district of Admiralteyskiy located in the north-western Russian city of Saint Petersburg and was later shared on social media where it has been viewed 256,000 times.

In the video, the young woman, identified as Dasha Ivanova, is seen waiting at a crossing with her skateboard.

After a while, she picks up her skateboard and steps into the road before being hit by a passing bus.

The young woman is seen lying on the side of the road before several residents come over to help her.

The passersby then called for an ambulance and the 25-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital.

According to local media, the bus driver was a 35-year-old man with six years of driving experience.

The victim’s condition is serious and the local authorities have already launched an investigation into the incident, according to reports.

Netizen ‘Polina Ivanova’ said: “I think she looked left before stepping into the road.”

‘Zhenya Fyodorov’ commented: “Yeah, looks like she was trying to take her own life.”

‘Aleksandr Katkov’ wrote: “I think she is simply reckless and stupid, that is why it happened.”
