This is the moment a pensioner cheats death when she is hit by a speeding bus from behind after stopping her scooter at an amber light but escapes with only minor injuries.

According to authorities from Taiwan’s northern port city of Keelung, 63-year-old Lin had hit the brakes on her scooter after noticing the changing traffic lights at the junction of Nanrong Road and Chongan Street.

However, Lin, who was identified only by her surname, is left injured and dazed on the road when the bus travelling behind her does not stop and instead ploughs right through her.

The video shows the woman, who was stopped on a zebra crossing, being hit from the left side by Yang, who was driving the vehicle operated by Keelung Bus Transportation Co., Ltd.

The accident was reported by witnesses who came to Lin’s aid.

Local authorities she “cheated death” and escaped with a minor fracture in her left leg.

She was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

The bus operator has promised to compensate Lin for the accident but did not say whether they would consider dismissing the driver involved.

The police are still investigating the incident but have concluded from video evidence that Yang had indeed driven through the junction during an amber light. No arrests have been reported so far.
