Neymar’s entourage have reportedly dismissed rumours he is set to return to Barcelona and say he will not consider his future until the end of the season.

The revelation comes as Neymar is named player of the month (January) by the UNFP.

His entourage told French newspaper L’Equipe that he “does not plan to leave PSG now”.

This puts a dampener on rumours that the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) player might return to the Spanish club during next summer’s transfer market.

The revelation comes after Leo Messi said that his friend was “keen to return to Barcelona”, comments which reportedly caused surprise in Neymar’s inner circle.

According to reports, Neymar’s sole focus at the moment is to win the Champions League and the Ligue 1 title, and he has reportedly not ruled out the possibility of renewing his contract with PSG.

Sources reportedly close to Neymar are said to have told L’Equipe: “He is not currently thinking about leaving the PSG”.

According to those close to Neymar, who reportedly learned with some surprise about the interview with his former teammate, Messi’s words “are not true”.

L’Equipe said that an anonymous insider told them “Messi is talking about the past situation, not the current one.”

According to L’Equipe, Neymar will only consider his future after the Champions League.

For the time being, even if the management of his situation before the 2-1 defeat in Dortmund on Tuesday annoyed him, and even if distrust for sporting director Leonardo is strong, he feels at home in Paris.

The revelation comes as Neymar is named player of the month (January) by the UNFP, ahead of Yunis Abdelhamid (who plays for Reims) and Moussa Dembele (who plays for Lyon).

He received 62 percent of the votes against 20 percent for Abdelhamid and 18 percent for Dembele.

It is the second time this season that a PSG player has won the award after Thiago Silva, another Brazilian, did so in October. And it is the second time that Neymar has received this trophy since he began playing in the French Ligue 1.
