This footage shows a woman ushering a child out of her kitchen just one second before a leaking gas cylinder explodes and engulfs the room in flames.

The near-miss, which shattered windows and blew out the home’s front door, happened in the town of Meihua in Fuzhou, capital of East China’s Fujian Province.

Home CCTV footage dated 6th December shows the female homeowner rushing into the kitchen after apparently noticing the stove flames burning out of control.

She reaches into the cabinet underneath the stove and appears to try to turn the cylinder valve off, but she decides to make a run for it when the flames grow bigger and bigger.

As she leaves the kitchen, the young child appears in the frame and is quickly ushered away in the opposite direction.

One second later, the cylinder under the cabinet erupts and a huge fireball engulfs the kitchen in flames as the gas cylinder reportedly explodes.

The woman and child were reportedly unharmed, and the accident caused no injuries.

Footage taken in the aftermath of the incident shows the family’s front door having been blown out by the shock wave.

The blast is thought to have been caused by a gas leak, but the precise cause is still being investigated.
