This is the moment a driver stops his car in the middle of the road and dashes to snatch a blind pedestrian who has been nudged by a reversing bus out of harm’s way.

A CCTV camera outside Panjin Experimental Primary School, which is in north-eastern China’s Liaoning Provinces, shows yellow school bus driver Li Bing bumping into the pedestrian when the heroic witness intervenes.

The footage from 25th June shows Li trying to perform a three-point turn by reversing into a construction site.

He appears to stop when he spots the blind pedestrian, who slowly shuffles along the pavement behind the yellow bus.

However, when the man stops, Li thinks he has already walked past and continues reversing.

As motorist Tian Qiushi waits for the reversing bus, he spots the danger and immediately sprints out of the driver’s seat.

He runs towards the pedestrian and pulls him away at the last second just as the bus nudges him.

The visually impaired man was fortunately not injured as Tian screamed to the bus driver as he ran: “Stop! Stop!”

Tian said after the incident: “There was really no time to consider anything else. A life was at stake!”

Bus driver Li said: “I’m very grateful to Mr Tian. If it weren’t for him, there would’ve been a serious accident.

“He not only saved the blind man, but he also saved me.”
