This is the shocking moment a mum directs her young daughter to pickpocket a worshiper’s purse during a church service in Honduras.

The shameful CCTV footage was recorded during a mass at the Guadalupe Church in Tegucigalpa on 1st October.

The girl, understood to be aged around 12, is filmed sitting next to her mother in the pews.

But as the congregation stands up for part of the service, the mum can be seen whispering to her daughter.

Moments later, the girl’s arm snakes forward, and her hand disappears into the bag of a worshiper sitting in the pew in front.

She looks from side to side and then pulls out her hand and hands to purse to her mother as they both rush from the church together.

The pair have not been named in local media, and it is unknown if the victim has filed a police report.

Social media users condemned the mother’s behaviour after the video was posted on social media.

User ‘Vanessa Baldassarre’ said: “How sad, a mother teaching her child how to steal in church instead of educating her in real values.”

While ‘Leyla Avila’ commented: “God, what a bad example is this, her own mother instilling bad ideas in her child.”

And ‘Leslie Marcia’ concluded: “Using a girl, she really has no conscience.”
