MONKEY’S UNCLE: Heartbroken Grey Langur’s Last Kiss For Human Pal At Funeral

This is the heart-touching moment when a grief-stricken monkey gave his human pal a last kiss at his funeral.

Before his death, Peetambaram Rajan, 56, fed the wild grey langur every day with fruit and biscuits at his forest-side home in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka.

And when mourners brought the monkey to Rajan’s funeral, they were amazed at how strong the bond had become.

As the langur perches on the edge of Rajan’s open coffin, it gently cups his chin as if trying to work out why his pal is so still.

Video footage recorded by a mourner shows the monkey leaning in to try to hug his human benefactor.

The langur then leans over the coffin and plants a kiss on Rajan’s face and grabs his hands, as if trying to lead him away.

Eventually, mourners gently carry the clearly distressed monkey away.

Dad-of-two Rajan died of a sudden illness on 17th October, reported local media.

The video was posted online and racked up hundreds of thousands of views, touching netizens.
