This is the moment a woman crossing the road is sent flying and knocked out cold by a speeding biker.

A security camera filmed the incident as it unfolded in the Brazilian city of Varzea Grande on the night of 3rd July.

The footage shows bars lining both sides of the street with many people standing around when the woman, who is dressed in a white sleeveless top, a black skirt and flip flops, crosses the road.

She is seen turning her head and spotting the rapidly approaching motorbike at the last moment when she is already in the middle of the road and unable to get out of the way.

She is then struck by the speeding vehicle and sent flying in the air before lying unconscious on the ground as bystanders run to her aid.

Paramedics were called to the scene and took the woman to A&E. It is not clear if she was still unconscious when they arrived.

Remarkably, despite the apparent severity of the collision, it was reported that the woman managed to escape with just a fractured foot and several cuts and scratches across her body.

The biker crashed a short distance in front of the woman and was also injured. At the time of reporting, no further information about his condition was given.

It was not reported if he was arrested or faces charges over the incident, which was registered with the police and will be investigated.
