This is the moment a Saudi woman driver causes a petrol station blaze after ramming into the pump.

The incident was filmed in the Saudi Arabian province of Al-Aflaj and the footage was later widely circulated on social media.

According to the news site Al-Bayan, the driver of a large GMC SUV was trying to manoeuvre the vehicle alongside the petrol pump when she misjudged the accelerator and rammed straight into it, sparking a blaze in the forecourt.

In the footage, the woman is seen driving slowly to the next fuel nozzle before mounting the pump and knocking over the entire apparatus.

A fire sparks under the large vehicle’s bonnet and the station attendant grabs a fire extinguisher as the woman jumps out of the vehicle and remains near the blaze.

While standing close to the flames, the fireball intensifies and the woman hurries away from her burning vehicle.

In the next scene, a crowd of bystanders look on from a distance as vehicles are moved away from the flames and fire brigade sirens sound in the background.

The emergency services arrived on the scene shortly afterwards to deal with the blaze. It is unclear if the local authorities are investigating the matter and if the woman faces legal action of any form.
