This is the moment a young schoolboy runs into the road directly into the path of an oncoming car but then gets back on his feet and runs back to the pavement after being sent flying.
The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in the district of Holodnaya gora in the city of Kharkiv in the north-eastern Ukrainian region of the same name and the footage was shared on Facebook by netizen ‘Vladimir Pilipchuk’ where it has been viewed over 300,000 times.
Pilipchuk said on social media: “The child ran across the road in the wrong place. Thank God he had a backpack on when he hit the road. The driver did not violate any traffic rules.
“If you have children or grandkids, please teach them how to cross the road.”
In the footage, the youngster is seen approaching the kerb while only looking one way and he waits for a blue car to pass before running into the street, unaware that a vehicle is coming from the other side.
The boy instinctively turns to see the white car just as it smashes into him, sending him flying backwards.
The boy rolls along the tarmac, immediately sits up and grabs his shoe that has come off.
He runs to the pavement where he puts his shoe back on while the driver gets out of his car to check on him.
There have been no further updates on the boy’s condition.
