This is the moment an ice cream lorry smashes into a minibus carrying elite special forces police officers in Turkey. 

The incident happened on the Sivas province of Turkey, located in the central Anatolia part of Turkey. 

CCTV footage shows the moment the special forces minibus drivers from a motorway service station lay-by in which a lorry is also parked onto the main Sivas – Erzincan motorway.

But just as they pull out into the road, a lorry that was reportedly carrying ice cream comes speeding into view and smashes into the van sending it and the police officers inside flying. 

Locals who saw the accident and other drivers rushed to give assistance, and called the police and the paramedics immediately. 

Two people who were in the lorry and 4 police officers in the minibus were injured in the accident. The victims were taken by ambulance to several nearby hospitals in the area where they are receiving treatment.

Authorities reported that the health state of all the victims is stable. 

The police confirmed they have started an investigation into the case and it was not revealed where the special forces officers were heading when the accident happened.
