This is the ‘Top Gun’ moment Russian pilots take to the skies in stealth fighter jets to show off their aerial skills during war-game exercises.

The Russian Ministry of Defence shared footage of pilots performing aerobatics in single-seat Sukhoi SU-57 jet fighters.

According to the Ministry, the fifth-generation SU-57 jets can fly at supersonic speed without turning on the forsage mode which makes the plane unique as supersonic speed is also its cruising speed.

A MoD statement said: “The armament under the fuselage provides almost perfect wing geometry and the latest on-board technology allows it to fly at extremely low altitudes.

“During the flight manoeuvres, the pilots took part in single and group aerobatics.”

The Sukhoi Su-57 is a stealth, twin-engine, multirole jet fighter that has been in development since 2002 for air superiority and attack operations.

The aircraft is the product of the PAK FA, a fifth-generation fighter programme of the Russian Air Force.

The latest jets have deadly precision and due to modern composite materials, it remains practically hidden from enemy radar.

Su-57s have been used in the Syrian civil war where they were tested in real combat conditions.

According to local media, the Russian MoD has recently placed an order for 76 new Su-57s.
