This is the moment a heroic policeman pulls a woman sitting on the edge of an overpass barrier high above a road to safety before dozens of cops scramble to her aid.

The unnamed woman, who witnesses say was suicidal, climbed onto the barrier of the overpass above Qianjin Street in Hengshui’s Taocheng District in North China’s Hebei Province.

Footage provided to Asia Wire shows witnesses standing below the overpass as the distant figure of the woman can be seen perched dangerously on the side of the elevated road.

Local authorities who had gathered around the woman closed off the multi-lane overpass and are thought to have spent a significant amount of time trying to talk her down.

However, video of the incident shows one determined cop grabbing the woman when her back his turned to him, dragging her to the safety of the road.

More than half a dozen other rescuers, including police and firefighters, then rush up and help subdue her.

The woman is not believed to have been injured during the ordeal, and the reasons behind her alleged suicidal threats have yet to be revealed.

Hengshui police have not responded to Asia Wire’s request for comment.
