This is the moment a giant pipe on the back of a turning lorry crushes the top of a Mini and pushes it into a crossroads as its occupants escape flee at the last minute.

The frightening incident happened on Deqing Avenue in the county of Deqing, which is in Zhejiang Province in East China, on 29th December.

Dashcam footage from a nearby vehicle captured the moment the heavy goods vehicle began making a right turn at the junction while hauling the lengthy pipe on its trailer.

The driver of the articulated lorry fails to notice the cargo clipping the top of the stopped Mini, which is crushed underneath the heavy object.

Nearby drivers began honking repeatedly in a bid to warn the lorry driver, but the vehicle does not stop, as the video shows.

The driver’s side door of the Mini opens as the hatchback is pushed through the junction, with the male driver escaping and dragging his female passenger out of the same side.

As the video ends, the Mini continues to be pushed dozens of feet through the junction as the driver and his partner give chase on foot.

According to reports, the incident resulted in no serious injuries.

An investigation is still ongoing.
