Man Wins Jackpot After Playing Online To Pass The Time

A man from the USA has turned his boring day into a very exciting one after he won more than GBP 650,000 by playing lottery games online to pass the time.

Jerard Hickman was reportedly going through another dull day in his home in the city of Richmond, in Virginia State, USA, when he opened Virginia Lottery’s website on Thursday, 16th February.

Having decided to play some online games, the district manager for a transportation company tried out the Lucky Golden Multiplier, and was left stunned when a prize of USD 785,414 (GBP 650,362) appeared on the screen.

Lottery officials revealed that the prize is the largest ever won in a Virginia Lottery online instant game.

Jerard said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from Virginia Lottery: “It feels fantastically awesome! If that’s a word, that’s how it feels!”

As he collected the prize at Lottery headquarters the next day, he revealed that he had no plans with the money other than to pay his bills.

The Lucky Golden Multiplier is reportedly one of dozens of instant games available online with a progressive, growing jackpot, and odds of one in 4.66 per game.

Virginia Lottery said: “In addition to online instant games, players can purchase Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash4Life, Pick 3, Pick 4 and Cash 5 with EZ Match plays online.

“Players must be at least 18 years of age and physically located in Virginia.

“All Virginia Lottery profits go to K-12 education in Virginia.

“Mr. Hickman lives in Richmond, which received nearly USD 25.6 million [GBP 21.2 million] in Lottery funds for K-12 education last fiscal year.

“In Fiscal Year 2022, the Lottery raised more than USD 779 million [GBP 645 million] for K-12 education, making up approximately 10 percent of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.”
