A man has been detained by the police after sharing a video of his bleeding dead dog which he allegedly shot for bothering his geese.

The startling incident occurred in the Avcilar district of Turkey’s largest city Istanbul and the suspect recorded a video of the dead dog and shared it with his friends. 

Local media report the suspect, who has not been named in reports but is a livestock breeder, shot his own Chow Chow dead as it was scaring his geese.

In the video, reportedly recorded by the suspect, a pair of geese can be seen walking down a muddy track when the camera turns to show the bloodied pooch lying dead in a patch of grass.

Local media report the suspect sent the video to his friends who were shocked to see he had killed the dog.

The clip was later posted to social media by an anonymous user and it came to the attention of the local police who launched an investigation.

The suspect was later arrested and he remains in custody as the investigation is ongoing. It is unclear if he has been charged.

Netizens were shocked by the video with ‘Tankut Erdem’ commenting: “It is highly dangerous for this man to live in society. He could do the same to people too.” 

And ‘Irfan Esener’ added: “I hope he gets a severe punishment.” 

While ‘Fadim Altinekili’ commented : “You monstrous douchebag! I hope they don’t just punish him with a fine and let him go back home.”
