This is the moment a nosy pedestrian who joins a crowd of onlookers at the site of a road accident is involved in his own traffic smash when he is hit by a passing car.

By passer-by, surnamed Tang, was one of about two dozen people loitering in the middle of the road when he was hit by the passing driver, who may also have been trying to catch a glimpse of the drama.

A traffic camera on Xinhua Road in the city of Pinghu, which is in China’s eastern Zhejiang Province, captured the first accident at 2:43pm local time on 19th May.

A woman on an electric scooter rides through a zebra crossing and is struck from the side by a white SUV.

The crash sends the woman flying off her scooter and leaves her lying injured on the ground, the video shows.

The CCTV clip then cuts to the large group of onlookers – including Tang – surrounding the victim at the accident site.

Tang walks back and forth from the crash site to a traffic island and is hit just as he has seen enough and decides to leave two minutes later.

In the video, Tang is hit by a white saloon car, whose driver fails to slow down or stop and sends the man tumbling to the ground.

The authorities said Tang suffered a rib fracture for his troubles, with just six minutes elapsing between the first and second accidents.

It is unclear whether any charges had been filed against either party at the time of writing.
