A pervert who sneaked into a woman’s laundry room and stole used underwear from her washing machine later used it to dress his pillow so he could sniff them as he fell asleep.

Images released by police show the man’s pillow literally wearing the top and knickers that he had stolen from the washing machine. There was also a pile of around 30 used items of female underwear elsewhere in the property.

The incident took place in Alor Gajah, a town and district seat of Alor Gajah District, in Melaka, in Malaysia.

Around 10 of these belonged to the woman who reported the theft from her washing machine when she realised items were missing, and then checked the CCTV footage to discover she had been burgled.

She also added that in previous weeks she had also noticed underwear going missing but had not been certain enough that it was theft in order to report it.

Police confirmed that they used CCTV images from the woman’s property in order to track down the 51-year-old suspect. The footage shows him climbing over a wall in the garden before entering the laundry room in order to raid the washing machine.

Local police chief superintendent Arshad Abu said that the man was single and also had a history of similar offences.

He said: “We believe the suspect is a habitual panty sniffer.” He said the man now faced investigation under section 376 of the penal code for theft which could see him jailed for anything between a fine and up to 7 years.
