This is the moment a US police officer sets a dog on a suspected carjacker before the trained animal tackles the man to the ground.
The incident was filmed in Pasco County in the US state of Florida and the local police posted the video on Facebook on 16th November.
The police were responding to calls of a carjacking in the area and pursued the suspect through town before a foot chase took place.
The footage shows the officer arriving on the scene and immediately releasing K9 Shep on the suspect.
The cop repeatedly says “get him” to the dog as it chases after the man and apparently tackles him to the ground.
While the dog bites the man’s lower back, the officer arrives and says “hands up motherf*cker, hands up now!”
The man willingly gives himself up and the cop tries to cuff him on the ground while pulling the dog away.
A colleague then arrives to place the handcuffs on the suspect.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook: “Units received information that a subject wanted in connection with a carjacking was in the area of County Line Road in northern Pasco County.
“As multiple units responded to the location, the suspect fled and, when the suspect refused to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
“Shortly after the pursuit began, the suspect struck stop sticks, stopped the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot when he was quickly apprehended by K9 Shep and Deputy Carmack.
“We again share these videos to highlight the good work of our men, women and K9s.”
The investigation is ongoing.
