This is the moment a Russian farmer pins down a dying wolf after stabbing it when he found the animal searching for food in his home.

The incident happened in the south-western Russian city of Novosibirsk, the administrative centre of the Oblast region of the same name where the man grabbed the farming implement in order to defend his family.

In the clip, an unidentified man can be seen pinning the helpless animal to the ground after stabbing it and the creature can be seen apparently trying to bite the metal implement.

In the clip, a woman can be heard saying: “Roman has just killed the wolf! It just came here! God forbid! I’m so scared! You see what he killed it with.”

The video was reportedly shot by the unidentified woman and later shared on social media.

It is believed that the wolf was hungry and searching for food in their home.

Netizens were quick to comment after the controversial clip was shared online.

One internet user named ‘Volk Slava’ said: “Why would you kill wolves or any other animals?!”

Meanwhile, netizen ‘Lilia’ said: “You should act like this even with wolves, this is not human. Shame on you who did this.”

It remains unknown whether the man has been charged with cruelty against the wolf but in Russia they have no legal protection.

There are between 25,000 and 30,000 in the country and their numbers are increasing all the time, according to latest information.
